Jonas Malm

Jonas is a curious engineer and self-proclaimed Excel wizard with a generalist investment approach - though he spends a disproportionate amount of time on vertical SaaS, developer tools and AI. He has a particular conviction that the most durable companies of the next decade will be built by productizing services with AI.

Beyond his normal investment role, Jonas leads internal tech at node.vc - building tools to help the team identify strong founders earlier and move faster. He's always running some personal coding project on the side; these days less writing the code himself, more supervising the agents doing it.

Jonas has spent the better part of his career at the intersection of technology and early-stage investing. Before node.vc, he was an Investment Analyst at Brightly Ventures and a single-family office, developing early pattern recognition across the Nordic startup ecosystem. During his studies, he spent three years embedded in the tech community around campus working with tech companies and the university incubator across 16 projects helping startups evaluate markets and sharpen competitive positioning. He also did a stint as a Machine Learning Intern at Wehype, a gaming influencer marketing company, where he built models to predict viewership on sponsored Twitch streams. Jonas holds an MSc in Industrial Engineering from Linköping Institute of Technology, with a thesis in machine learning.

On a personal note, Jonas has been sailing his whole life and in the summers you'll find him somewhere in the Stockholm archipelago. He's a PADI Divemaster with 300+ dives logged, and bouldering has recently become a new obsession. He's fluent in Swedish, Norwegian and English.You can find him on X/Twitter and GitHub.
