STOCKHOLM, 24 JANUARY 2025 - Vaja, the Swedish energy technology company pioneering disruptive wind-adaptive solar park solutions, has raised SEK 10 million in early-stage funding. Founded by Henrik Eskilsson, co-founder and former CEO of Tobii, alongside Anders Olsson, founder of Soldags, Vaja is set to transform the global solar energy market with its groundbreaking technology.
Vaja’s innovation allows solar panels to dynamically adapt to wind conditions, significantly reducing wind loads by up to 90%. This not only lowers the cost of solar park infrastructure but also enhances efficiency, enabling greater energy production even under challenging weather conditions. The company’s approach is inspired by natural aerodynamics, with solar panels that function much like tree branches adjusting to the wind.
"If you look at branches and leaves in a storm, you see how they automatically adapt to the wind. We do the same – our technology can eliminate up to 90 percent of wind loads on a solar park," says Henrik Eskilsson, Co-Founder and CEO of Vaja.
The investment will be used to further develop Vaja’s technology and prepare for a broad commercial launch in 2025. The funding round was led by Nordic venture capital firm Node.vc, marking the first external investment in Vaja. The round also includes contributions from the founders and support from the Swedish Energy Agency.
